Start Up Ready

*Please note this is a 4-session course. Clients are expected to attend all 4 sessions – 3 Oct, 5 Oct, 10 Oct, 12 Oct

Start Up Ready programme provides free business support for Tower Hamlets residents who wish to start their own business.

This programme is funded by the London Borough of Tower Hamlets and hosted at 206 Whitechapel Road.

You are eligible if you are:

• Tower Hamlets resident
• Wishing to start your own business  OR
• Have a small business that is not yet economically viable

Day 1:

3 Oct, 9:45 – 4:00pm  – Introduction to Enterprise

• Pros & cons of running your own business
• Introduction to business planning
• Market research
• Legal structures
• Business insurance

Day 2:

5 Oct, 9:45pm – 4:00pm – Marketing

• Understanding your target market
• Unique selling proposition
• Pricing
• Promotion

Day 3:

10 Oct, 9:45am – 4:00pm – Business Finance

• Start up and running costs
• Cash flow forecasting
• Profit & loss
• Break even
• Profit margins
• Introduction to tax, NI and VAT
• Basic book-keeping

Day 4:

12 Oct, 9.45am – 4:00pm – Writing a Business Plan

Covering all sections of a typical business plan using a template provided by London Small Business Centre.
