Access to Finance Workshop – Online Workshop 16/12/2025

Are you starting a business, covering initial costs, or looking to expand within your first year of trading? This online workshop is designed to help you explore finance options and prepare for sustainable growth.

Delivered in partnership with MENTA and funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, the workshop supports residents and start-ups in East and West Suffolk.

Many new businesses fail because they don’t have enough cash to carry them through the critical early months, when sales are still building. This session will help you plan ahead to ensure you have the funds to set up and cover running costs.

You’ll gain insight into key questions such as:

  • What funding options are available?

  • What do funders look for?

  • What misconceptions should I be aware of?

  • Should I use an agent to help me?

  • Am I ready to receive funding?

  • How much money do I really need?

By the end of the workshop, you’ll have a clearer understanding of funding opportunities, improved financial awareness, and the confidence to make informed decisions about your business finances.

The UK Shared Prosperity Fund was a central pillar of the UK government’s Levelling Up agenda and provided £2.6 billion of funding for local investment up to March 2025. The Fund has sought to improve pride in place and increase life chances across the UK investing in communities and place, supporting local business, and people and skills. A further £900 million of investment funding is being provided for the period up to March 2026, ahead of a new funding programme to be launched by the Government. For more information visit UK Shared Prosperity Fund 2025-26: Technical note – GOV.UK
