FXHOME‘s video and photography software has been the go-to tool for creative projects the world over; the company counts Red Bull and Video Game High School as clients, and work with partners on a global scale, including Sony and Film Riot.
The company came to Nwes in 2001 with a five man team, and soon grew to a 17-strong company with clients worldwide. In 2013, they joined the Nwes-partnered Future50 programme – an exclusive growth programme providing Norfolk and Suffolk’s most enterprising and innovative small-to-medium sized companies with expert business advice, networking events, business support and access to grant funding.
We caught up with Joshua Davies, Founder and CEO:
How have you grown since first approaching Nwes?
We first approached Nwes over 10 years ago when we had a total of five people working for us and were still learning how to run a successful company. We now employ 17 members of staff and have relocated to city centre offices. Turnover is substantially higher than it was when the company first met Nwes and our product portfolio is stronger than ever. We will have over 1 million people using HitFilm – our VFX and editing software product – by the middle of next year.
How did Nwes help you on your start-up journey?
We took advantage of the Nwes run Henderson Business Centre. This managed space worked really well for us in the early days of the business. As well as providing a professional working environment for our staff, it was also an appropriate place to meet with partners and stakeholders. The facilities supplied at the centre helped us to transition from an early stage start-up into an established technology company.
What are your ambitions of the next five years?
Our ambition remains the same as it did when the company first started. We aim to create new world-leading software products, develop our current portfolio and continue to learn about our customers to become one of the world’s top creative software companies.
What is the best thing about running your own business?
FXHOME never stops moving forward. Each year brings with it new challenges and opportunities as we continue to push ahead in the fast-paced creative software industry. One thing that remains constant is our growing number of loyal users and they remain at the heart of everything we do.
