Actually we’re not looking for cowboys; and you don’t need to own a horse or an ape called Clyde. But if you run (or have run a business), then you might be able to help …….
Clint once said, “I’m a mentor for anyone who is interested.” So we’re looking for potential mentors who can help the new entrepreneurs we are working with across the East of England start a new business. All you need is experience (past or present) of running a business or senior management experience and be able to spare 1 to 2 hours per month per business.
As one of the largest not for profit Enterprise Agencies in the UK and a Delivery Partner for the Government’s Start Up Loans scheme, we provide advice and funding to help start or grow a business and our volunteer business mentors provide essential support and guidance post start.
Our mentors tell us the motivation to join the scheme is to give something back whilst learning and enjoying being involved with fresh ideas and business ideas. In fact, it’s a two way thing just as rock superstar Phil Collins explained, “In learning you will teach, and in teaching you will learn.”
Mentoring doesn’t have to be onerous either. You choose the number of businesses you wish to work with at any one time (we suggest 2 -4). By being independent, your insight and experience can fast track these new enterprises to be more successful, more quickly. In essence you can help them to avoid the common mistakes that often lead to learning the hard way.
To join our scheme, just email firstname.lastname@example.org now or call us on 0845 60 99991
Or you can visit us at Norwich Enterprise Centre, Guildhall Hill, Norwich, NR2 1JH to find out more.
If you are coming on horseback, do ring in advance though…..
