Back in 2016, Peter Lawrence launched Human Capital Department. Determined the new business would provide much more than just an HR service, when Rod Lee joined the business in June 2016 this meant that over 70 years of experience could be combined to provide a unique and flexible service for their clients.
“We’re often called in to help when things go wrong but our real passion is to help ensure things don’t go wrong! That means working with clients through the recruitment stage, ensuring that effective performance management is in place and reporting systems work and are fair. By getting this right at the outset, both employee and employer can get the best possible results” explained Peter.
The approach landed them the “Innovator of the Year” award at the King’s Lynn Business Awards in March 2017 and the business has continued to flourish.
“Moving in to our very own office in the King’s Lynn Innovation Centre (KLIC) in August this year was a real watershed for the business. Being able to upgrade from our original virtual office meant we can take real advantage of being in the newest business centre in King’s Lynn and get event further involved with local businesses. We’ve already run seminars on the effects of the new GDPR data regulations that will affect almost all businesses next year and we’ve more free information sessions planned”, added Peter. “We know these are well received by delegates which means we can start to work early on preparing painlessly for the changes and avoid potentially big problems in the future”.
It has been a productive year for the business and Peter expects the business to continue to grow. “We’re providing professional business partner support at a fraction on the price of having in an house HR team and we’re very confident the business will continue to grow ” Peter concludes.
