Business Ideas Day (BID)
The BID is the first step on the journey towards self employment. This is an inspiring and informative half day programme (09.30 – 13.30) to assess the viability of your idea. We examine your idea in detail to fine tune and explore its full potential. The day includes a comprehensive overview of what is involved in running a business including how to carry out market research in order to prepare a professional business plan; how to complete a survival budget and calculate start-up costs. ‘Best Start’ Business Planning Programme
Do you have the character, skills and ability to run your chosen business? Can you meet the demands of current legislation and regulations? How will you deliver the right product or service to the right person at the correct time using the most effective marketing message? Do you know how to control the business activities, your finances and keeping the appropriate records? This SFEDI accredited course gives you the knowledge you need to formally assess all of these key areas to enable you to set up a professional business.
 
BID provides an overview, the ‘Best Start’ Business Planning Programme is a more in depth five day course held over a period of 2 - 3 weeks in a series of workshops that will help you understand the basic issues around starting a business. Best Start provides the essential details necessary taking your business forward. The following topics are covered:
  • Legislation
  • Tax and bookkeeping
  • Marketing
  • Costing and financial control through sales forecasts
  • Cash flow
  • Profit and loss
